Wagrain is in the heart of the vast "Ski Amade" region which has 860km (534 miles) of groomed downhill ski slopes with 270 cable cars and free ski buses.
The ski area is huge and great for skiers and boarders alike. Cross country skiing is also possible from Wagrain, with well marked looped routes.

Situated at an elevation of 839 metres, the cosy small town of Wagrain is set in a beautiful sunny valley amongst green meadows and forests during the summer and lively ski slopes during the winter season. This popular resort is part of the vast "Ski Amade" ski region.

Wagrain is the hometown of Karl-Heinrich Waggerl, whose memory is honoured in the Das Waggerl Museum, which also has exhibitions of the town’s history. Joseph Mohr who died in Wagrain on December 4. 1848, who left us the world famous Christmas carol 'Silent Night Holy Night'.

Wagrain is a family-friendly ski resort offering around ninety-seven kilometres of well prepared downhill runs with three ski schools - numerous chairlifts and three gondola stations giving easy and fast access to the ski pistes, with the top station located at 2013 metres. With extensive snow making machines - snow sure is virtually guaranteed. Wagrain is also directly linked (ski or bus) with eleven other ski areas (all on same lift pass) making Wagrain and the surrounding area the largest in Austria - a skier's paradise !

From the apartment you have the ability to take three main gondolas to various areas, Wagrain and Alpendorf (Grafenberg Gondola), Flachau and Kirchboden /Wagrain (Flying Mozart & Moadorfl). You could also take ski bus to Kleinarl which links to the massive ski area of Flachauwinkel and Zauchensee.

The slopes are well maintained and views stunning. It is unusual to encounter queues for lifts. There are great restaurants and shops in Wagrain village right on the doorstep of the apartment. The numerous mountain restaurants also provide food and service of outstanding quality.
